An outstanding deciduous tree that is worthy of a special planting position where the spectacular autumn colour can really be enjoyed. The large glossy green leaves turn fiery orange and red from early autumn. Pyramidal shape when young and eventually forms a large round headed tree. Wow!

A beautiful tree from North America which has reddish branchlets and buds and attractive clusters of small red flowers in spring followed by 'winged' seeds. The large palmate leaves are green in summer turning rich crimson red in autumn. Grows well in cool areas with rich moist soil. Deciduous.

The North American Maple is quite easy to grow in sun or part shade. It will do best if sheltered from strong wind.

Rubrum. This upright Canadian Maple eventually grows into a tall tree with a narrow columnar habit. In autumn the leaves turn yellow with splashes of red on the margins. Excellent specimen or avenue tree. Protect from strong prevailing winds. Deciduous.

Give it room to grow and will reward you well. Prefers the sun and deep acid soil but reasonably tolerant and very hardy.

The silver maple is a quick-growing species that may live up to 130 years or more and reach heights exceeding 100 feet. The deeply-lobed leaves are dark green on the surface with a downy white underside, resulting in a strikingly beautiful presentation when viewed as a whole. Deciduous.

Quite an unusual and interesting Maple in that the new spring foliage is maroon. Gradually the leaves turn green with dark veins with just a hint of pink in the background. Quite striking. Upright habit. Plant in the sun or semi-shade protected from harsh winds. Deciduous.

Leaves emerge almost pure cream or white with green venation. As they develop, they become green with dark green venation while keeping the strong contrast. Can burn in full sun. Autumn colours are orange and reds. Deciduous.

A slender upright growing Maple with deep shiny purple foliage that turns to deep crimson red in autumn. Quite hardy and vigorous but as with all Maples will perform better with protection from harsh winds. Introduced from the Trompenburg Arboretum in Rotterdam. Deciduous.

Featuring in spring, masses of burgundy tassels that adorn bare branches. Young shoots and leaves are purple maroon changing to bright green then becoming a deeper rich green as they mature. Leaves turn gold for their autumn display. A vigorous grower with smooth bark. Deciduous.

Great as shade tree for paddocks, larger parks and gardens.
